Visita de Joe Gaston

On today session we had a special visit by teacher Joe Gaston, he is from Mobile, Alabama and he came to our class to demonstrate to us the different methods available using technology in class. We had a great time doing different activities, first of all we did an activity using an egg a broom a pan and a cup of water were we had to be able to throw the egg in the cup it was very exciting because everybody got nervous and anxious and all the class was able to participate in group.

Next, Joe showed us how to use technology in classes such ad math, social studies and science. It was very interesting because i was able to see different things i really didn't know, like for example making  video in science class is not only fun for student but it also motivated them to make it, and it was fun for them and they were also able to interact with their classroom partners. On the other hand, in math class students got to download a calculator by an app in their cellphone, also in another grade level they even used a smart board were students were able to write on it, motivating participation in class.

Finally, students also made videos, about their cultures, this is a great idea because persons are able to know from one another just by making a video and telling one another their different traditions they have in certain countries.

I really enjoyed the visit, i think i was able to learn a lot and not only see the different methods but also realizing it is important to transmit this type of knowledge, so teachers all over the world get to integrate the use of technology in their teachings.

Reflexión de las herramientas web 2.0

Es muy importante utilizar las herramientas web 2.0 en clase, y para fomentar esto es necesario que los profesores sepan utilizar las herramientas correctamente  y así deberán motivar a sus alumnos a utilizarlas. Se deberá crear en los alumnos la importancia de estas herramientas, y para propiciarlas dentro de clase se les mostrara a los estudiantes las diferentes herramientas así como sus diferentes usos, esto los invitara a que se vayan enrolando más en el tema y sus herramientas. Por otra parte, es una forma divertida en donde pueden socializar, trabajar en equipo y aprender de una forma más entretenida.

Para motivar a los maestros a utilizarla primero que nada se les tiene que ensenar las diferentes herramientas disponible como las que hemos visto en clase como: blogg, google+, y el creae encuestas entre otras. Esto los ayudara a observar y a entender más las herramientas, debido a que muchas veces los maestros no tienen el conocimiento necesario de todas las herramientas de las que se disponen.

Ideas para atraer a otros maestros usarlas:

-Mencionarles la importancia que es utilizar la tecnología en el salón de clases

-Mostrarle todas las herramientas que hay, ya sea en el ipad sus diferentes aplicaciones, padlet, mooevly etc, que están muy padres para utilizar en la enseñanza-aprendizaje.
